Faith Triumphs Over Condemnation

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
— Hebrews 11:6

God made Himself clear in Hebrews 11—faith is not a recommendation; it is a requirement. It is the spiritual baseline where this journey with God begins. Better yet, it’s like a double-sided key. It simultaneously unlocks both your heart and God’s, enabling you to please Him and allowing Him to dwell within you. Without it, there is no way you can please God, nor can His transformative power fully operate in you.

Now that we understand how important faith is, we must know how to define it. Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

If you picture hope as your inward imagination, faith is that creative God-given force that brings what is figurative into reality. It is the substance of your dreams and aspirations, the power that brings to pass the promises of God that rightfully belong to you.

You may be thinking, “If this is true, then nothing is impossible if I place my faith in God!” I am happy to share—you are correct. And there’s someone else you and I coexist with who knows that too. Who might that be? His name is satan.

1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”.

Satan, the adversary, is continually on the prowl, scheming to steal your faith away. Why? Because he understands that faith has eternal, life-saving power. By faith, there is no ailment that cannot be cured, no question that cannot be answered, and no need that cannot be met.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV) says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”.

Condemnation in Greek means to “judge worthy of punishment.” Essentially, it signifies that one is unworthy of being called blameless. Satan knows this and has virtually decided, “What better way to contaminate a Christian’s faith than by convincing him or her that they are unworthy in the eyes of God?

However, there is quite a strong contradiction to that strategy. Catch this: nearly 2,000 years ago, the Son of God became flesh and dwelt among men on earth. While here, He lived a perfect life and gave Himself up unto death, like a spotless lamb, to atone for the sins of mankind. He then rose to life and returned to sit at the right hand of God. Now, every individual who places their faith in God is redeemed and made new. When God looks at you, He sees the Spirit of Christ in you, and there is no condemnation in Christ.

Faith, my friends, is not a way to please God. It is the way. There is no beginning to a relationship with God without it. And the enemy will stop at nothing to corrupt it. I encourage you today to strengthen your faith by seeing yourself as God does.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”.

Condemnation cannot prevail against a new creature, and that’s exactly who you are. Therefore, it is time to allow your faith to multiply. If you knew it pleased God, then is it truly worth neglecting?

Worship: Is He Worthy?

Prayer

Father, thank You for delivering me from the dominion of condemnation. Because Christ is in me, the enemy no longer has the authorization to condemn me or cause me to feel unworthy. Today, I ask that You transform my mind to receive this revelation and to see myself as You see me. Fill me now with a fresh, new portion of faith, so that I may in return bring You the pleasure You deserve. I declare protection over my faith. May any plan against it fail to succeed. I love You and am eternally thankful for the love You have for me. Amen.
