Understanding the Power of The Cross

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”
The cross not only offers us salvation, but the opportunity to live in the Kingdom of Heaven today. Jesus told His disciples to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven,” (Matthew 6:10). What does it mean for the Father’s kingdom to come? God's kingdom comes through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, leading to a transformed life lived in obedience to God's will, and ultimately, through the full and final reign of Christ at His return. Furthermore, God’s kingdom requires God’s sons and daughters to recognize their heavenly authority and live from their identity in Christ. God’s kingdom is represented on earth by His children, and it is only through us that His kingdom will advance so that “all the earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3).
How are we worthy of this heavenly authority? How do we step into our true identities as sons and daughters of the one true King? We can do this only by the blood of Jesus. On the cross, my life became one with Christ, as Paul states in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” To those who believe, we have already died, and our life is now hidden in Christ. “Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ. And as Christ himself is seen for who he really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now one with him in his glory!” (Colossians 3:3-4).
Don’t deny the power of the blood - you are worthy to walk in this kingdom calling because of the blood of Jesus. We came to the cross as sinners - we were transformed at the cross into saints. Jesus didn’t just fix our sin nature, He gave us a NEW nature - His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). We all know that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation,” (2 Corinthians 5:17). You received a NEW identity on the cross: co-heir with Christ, child of God, royal priesthood. Because of the cross, you no longer have to work for your heavenly identity; you receive it by grace! You are not defined by what you do, but by who you are (in Christ).
Sons and daughters of God, your identity was settled on the cross, in Christ.
Worship: Blood of Jesus
Prayer
Thank You Jesus that my identity was settled on the cross. Thank You for my salvation and access to Your kingdom. No weapon formed against my identity can prosper today. Open my eyes to where I have been blind to Your power and glory on earth. Open my eyes to how You want to use me to advance Your kingdom on this earth. Thank You for trusting me with Your Spirit and filling me with everything that I need for the kingdom life that You’ve called me to. Yours is the kingdom, the power, and glory forever!

An animal lover asked me the other day, “Why would God require the slaughter of sweet innocent animals just to wash away people’s sins in the Old Testament?” And then another person said to me, “I find the Cross problematic. Why would God sacrifice His Son Jesus for my sin? I would never do that to my child!”
