More Than Conquerors: Online Prayer Gathering

The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:35,37: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

The phrase “more than conquerors” in Greek, is the word “hupernikos”, a compound of the words huper and nikos Huper,  literally means over, above, and beyond. It depicts something that is way beyond measure. It carries the idea of superiority — something that is utmost, paramount, foremost, first-rate, first-class, and top-notch; greater, higher, and better than; superior to; preeminent, dominant, and incomparable; more than a match for; unsurpassed, unequaled, and unrivaled by any person or thing. The word “conqueror” is from the Greek word nikos. The word nikos describes an overcomer; a conqueror, champion, victor, or master. It is the picture of an overwhelming, prevailing force. Rick Renner opined that: “When you combine these two words, the declaration is that: In Jesus Christ, you are an overwhelming conqueror, a paramount victor, or an enormous overcomer. This word is so power-packed that one could interpret it as a phenomenal, walloping, conquering force!”

When we come to God in prayer through the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we are appropriating the infallible word of God, the powerful Blood of Jesus and the finished work of the Cross to release the mighty strength of the Holy Spirit and all of His heavenly resources to intervene in our circumstances- to bring us into a place of strength and victory- where we become more than conquerors.

We invite you to join us in prayer because for every challenge you have, the Bible has a promise suited to address your need. God intended that in whatever weak and feeble state you may find yourself in, however rough and weary your way may be, you were meant to ultimately come out more than a conqueror through Jesus who deeply loves you.
