Faith in Action

If we lack faith in the Lord and the promises He has made to us, we are missing out on all He wants to give us. The Lord desires a real relationship with us, one that is trusting and intimate, one that is true and pure. The God of the universe loves you and cares for you unconditionally – don’t you want to please Him by simply placing your faith in Him? Our flesh craves control, but our Spirit desires to be led by a Holy Father. Living in faith gives the Holy Spirit the power to lead us.
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” James 1:6-7
Doubt is a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction. When we doubt the Lord and His ability to answer our prayers, we are telling Him we do not believe in His power or might. This mindset and heart posture is dangerous. If we are not firm in our faith, we leave ourselves to the wind, easily shaken and disrupted by the troubles of the world. As our faith increases, our foundation in the Lord solidifies, and the doubt we once felt dissipates.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
Abraham, Noah, Moses, Abel, just to name a few, all acted in faith to conquer kingdoms, administer justice, and gain what was promised. The Lord wants this for you too. He wants to watch you succeed in His calling over your life. He desires for you to fix your gaze on Him, flee from sin, and run the race He has set before you. As your intimacy with the Lord grows, the desires of your heart will align greater with His and you will seek His call and word above the world’s. You will discover the peace and joy that Jesus was crucified for when you begin to truly act out your faith in Him. Abiding in Jesus and walking in faith must occur simultaneously to experience the fullness of God’s love and immense favor over your life.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for blessing us with the gift of having relationship with You. Thank You for the ability to rely on Your plan for our lives instead of our own. A plan that is far greater than one we could ever make ourselves. Give us the desire in our hearts to live out our faith in You fully and without hesitancy. Help us to put our faith into action so that we can experience what You have planned for our lives in full. Lead us into greater intimacy with You, where we seek You above all else and find the real peace only You can provide. Thank You for loving us so well. Amen.

Hebrews 11-12
To love well as Christians, we must grasp the depths to which love went for us and understand how deeply we are loved. The Bible tells the story of a good Father who passionately loves His children, giving the most valuable possession of heaven to redeem us. Love paid a high price for us.
