The Power of God’s Choice
by: Jahan Berns
If you have ever fallen in love, I bet you remember how exhilarating it was to dream up a thousand ways to plan for, surprise, and delight your loved one! Funny thing is that, God is like that with you! Long before He made the world, He was thinking about you, planning, and setting His focus on you! It gave Him great pleasure to dream and plan of countless ways to shower you with His unlimited and matchless love gifts! If you think I am pulling your leg, read Ephesians 1:3-6 in any version.
If you are a parent, you can’t possibly even count the number of times you have lovingly planned and provided for your children’s welfare! In this terribly sad and fallen world, where do you think parents get the strength and courage to nurture selflessly and give sacrificially? We have God’s DNA. It’s him who gives us the love and grace to parent well. He is a beautiful parent that loves, protects, and plans well for His children.
Food for thought
Did you know that God is your number one parent, and that He has kind intentions toward you?
Now that know that your existence brings God’s pleasure, how does that make you feel?
God planned your adoption as His beloved child long before He formed the world. He has good plans for your life. He loves you and yearns for you. How do you plan on reciprocating His love?
Prayer for today
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus to die on the cross for me so that in Him, I can enjoy your lavish blessings. Lord, the knowledge that you chose me; and made me a focus of your love even before the world was made, is too wonderful to fully comprehend. Thank you for choosing me and working in me to be holy like your Son Jesus Christ. I receive and embrace the riches of your kindness and grace. May I walk in wisdom, understanding, and gratitude for your salvation and the attending deliverance wrought through the precious Blood of Jesus. Amen!
To love well as Christians, we must grasp the depths to which love went for us and understand how deeply we are loved. The Bible tells the story of a good Father who passionately loves His children, giving the most valuable possession of heaven to redeem us. Love paid a high price for us.
