Warrior: Men's Retreat

“So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this enemy troop? Shall I overtake them?” And God answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”” 1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭8‬

God is calling you to: Pray. Pursue. Overtake. Recover All.

When everything was at stake both on an individual, corporate, and national level, David had but one option. GOD. David prayed; pursued; overtook; recovered all; saved his family and others; and proved himself a worthy leader.

WarriorGod is calling you to do the same. Never have the stakes been so high! The sacredness of your walk has consequences for you and others. Therefore leave no stone unturned- join other Warriors in a relentless pursuit of God- HE is the only key to your strength and success.

Meet the Speakers

Chris Knight

Chris is a wonderful evangelist with a heart for the lost, especially those struggling with addictions. Chris had a very tough childhood and young adult life. Battling with addiction, homelessness, and other difficult challenges, Jesus intervened in Chris’ life and saved him, and set him free from addiction. The Lord also filled him with a burning passion to preach the gospel, lead people to Jesus, and help people find freedom from addictions. Ten years ago, Chris opened his home and started taking in people who needed to get off drugs. He and his wife single-handedly started working with these people to get them off drugs. Simultaneous with that, Chris was preaching the gospel in Oneonta and wherever God would open doors.

Today, Chris and his wife Lisa Knight run an incredible Christian rehab ministry called the Refuge, as well as a business that employs the men and women who are being rescued from addiction through their ministry. As an evangelist, Chris continues to actively preach the gospel in churches, revival meetings, prisons and other restricted places.

Mike Roman

Christian movie producer, professor of medicine and teacher of missionaries/pastors for over 20 years;  Mike Roman had everything his heart desired and it was all in his home. One night he and his wife watched it all burn, completely with nothing recoverable. He stood helpless as he watched everything he had built go up in flames, even his most favorite dog was trapped in the flames. Everything that he held of value was consumed by a massive fire that set off the satellites above the Earth. James Spann even mentioned it on the news and had countless people text in saying they were praying for that family.

In that moment holding his precious wife, God spoke to him and said, “I will show you your future.” Mike was like, “WHAT? Lord, my home is in flames and you will show me my future? What does that mean??” What he went through and experienced, changed his life foreverand altered his life’s trajectory.

Mark Stearns

Mark Stearns was born in Mobile, Alabama, and moved to Huntsville in the sixth grade.

He has been married to Connie Parker Stearns for 49 years and has two sons, one

daughter and seven grandchildren.

in his life with others. He worked with Young Life for 10 years and as a chaplain

assistant at Limestone Correctional Facility for three years.

In 2002 he founded Lincoln Village Ministry in Huntsville, Alabama. The ministry’s mission is to share the transforming power of the gospel of Christ and to serve through educating, sheltering, comforting, and equipping the Lincoln community for Christ’s glory.

Jahan Berns

Jahan’s Father, a military commander in Uganda was assassinated when she was just six years old. Following his death, Jahan’s family was robbed of everything, and they became destitute. Jahan was raised Muslim until her dramatic conversion to Christianity. Jahan migrated from Uganda to England, and finally to Birmingham, Alabama.

As a Mortgage Banking & Litigation attorney, Jahan practiced law at the law firm of Sirote & Permutt, in Birmingham, AL, until she took a job at the Chief Operating Officer for JH Israel and U.S. Israel Education Association.

Jahan is now in full-time ministry with Triumph of Hope, a non-profit she founded to ignite others with a love and passion for Jesus. She travels and speaks widely preaching the Gospel and sharing her inspirational story in both Christian and secular settings.
