Not 90/10: Surrendering Everything

“In October 2024, I joined a men's Bible study called M2 (Made for More). Before that, I had struggled through tremendous hardship in many different ways my entire life. The Lord led me to reach out to a friend I knew was involved with the study.

The first night I attended was a divine appointment. The leader spoke about walking with the Lord, He said, "This is not a 90/10 walk. You can't be 90% in and 10% out." My entire life I had been a cultural Christian. When I heard that, I told the Lord, "Father, I give You everything. I surrender all!" From then on, the Lord slowly began to work in my heart.

After that study, I reached out to the leader and we met. In the weeks before, he had been going through deliverance training hosted by Triumph of Hope. A few weeks after we met, the Lord showed him my face four different times and placed it on his heart that I needed deliverance. He reached back out to me, and he and a friend of mine met with me to do deliverance.

We went through the Triumph of Hope purple spiritual warfare booklet, and by the power of the Blood of Jesus, my life has never been the same! Through Triumph of Hope's training, my leader and friend stewarded the deliverance very well by focusing completely on the leading of Holy Spirit which then I experienced freedom!

Before I encountered Jesus, I was in complete bondage to fear, anxiety, sexual immorality, and every other sin out there. From my childhood and other experiences, I carried so much weight that I felt like I had the whole world on my shoulders. I was consumed by ungodly beliefs about myself and was convinced I could never be forgiven for all of the terrible things I had done in my life. But the Lord placed Triumph of Hope, a ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, right here in Birmingham, Alabama, and through The Great Commission still advancing today I was completely set free from all of those things, literally in the blink of an eye the light came in and pushed out all the darkness!

As my leader and friend talked with me, prayed, and worshiped alongside me during the deliverance the truth of God's Word came alive. When I believed in my heart of hearts that I was truly forgiven, and when I chose to forgive some of my family members, the Lord, like a giant Holy vacuum, sucked all the weight, shame, and condemnation off of me. I had held up so much unforgiveness in my heart it was like a poison. The Lord says “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15

The Holy Spirit poured out over and me and filled me with an overflowing spring of eternal life, and I encountered the Lord Jesus! My vision my whole life was diluted with sin and by the Lord Jesus the veil was torn before my eyes, and I have never seen so clearly!

I used to walk in religion and be a cultural Christian but now I walk in the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Where life once felt like treading water, I now stand in the triumph of hope we have in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:37, ESV)

Now I live with a hope that comes from the person of Jesus Christ, and it gives me the strength to keep going in this life. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." (Romans 15:13, ESV)

Since my deliverance, I've been blessed to attend several Triumph of Hope events the last two years, and each one has given me so much fruitful teaching that has helped me continue on this journey to proclaim the gospel!
