A Prayer for Palm Sunday
A Prayer to Pray on Palm Sunday
“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” Zechariah 9:9
Lord Jesus,
Holy, holy, holy are you—the mighty King of Zion. We worship your glorious name. Jesus, we look to you as King today. The King of our hearts. We lay our lives before you as we enter into Holy Week.
As we reflect and read scripture on your humble entrance into Jerusalem, we humble ourselves. We cry out ‘Hosanna!’ for you have come and fulfilled the words prophesied by Zechariah.
Jesus, only you knew how significant your entrance to Jerusalem was. Only you knew the cross set before you. Lord, give us a supernatural and sensitive heart to feel the weight of your glory and suffering this week. You endured suffering for our sin, you conquered death, you resurrected and rose from the grave—all because you loved us.
Transform our hearts to love you deeper and deeper each day for a lasting encounter with you.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen!
