Day 17: Hunger for the Spirit
AW Tozer once said, “Today we see God and stop searching, whereas the early saints sought God, found Him, and continued to seek more of Him.” You know God, but do you hunger for more of God? Fasting reminds us that spiritual hunger is more satisfying than physcial fullness. It shifts our focus away from what is temporary and redirects it to what is eternal.
Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Fasting empties us of sin and self, making room to be filled with the Spirit's presence and power.
By desiring for more of the Lord, you are giving space for the Spirit to move mightly in your life. As you continue on this fast, let your hunger be a holy cry—one that draws you closer to His heart.
Prayer
Lord, I desire you. I desire to dwell in your house all of my days and to behold your beauty. Lord, I worship you today. I adore you. I ask you to give me a deeper hunger for more of you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
