Day 35: Acknowledge Him in All Your Ways
The word acknowledge in Proverbs 3 isn’t a casual head nod toward God. It’s not saying grace before a meal or tacking His name onto our goals. In Hebrew, the word implies intimate recognition—to know, consider, submit, and yield. It’s the posture of a man who says, “God, I trust You to guide everything—public and private, spiritual and practical.”
But let’s be honest. It’s one thing to acknowledge God in church or private prayer. It’s another thing to acknowledge Him in all your ways—in your career, your relationships, your decision-making, your failures, your finances, your leadership, and your reputation.
Fasting confronts our instinct to lean on our own understanding. It reveals how often we build plans without consulting the One who holds the blueprint. It pulls us out of self-reliance and into holy dependence.
And here’s the promise: if you will acknowledge Him in all your ways—not just the easy or obvious ones—He will direct your path. He will go before you. He will make the crooked straight. But first, you must slow down and submit the map.
This kind of trust takes courage—especially in a world that rewards self-made men. But we’re not called to be self-made. We’re called to be God-led.
Prayer
Lord, I confess how often I lean on my own understanding, even when I say I trust You. Today I choose to submit every area of my life to You—not just in word, but in practice. Show me how to acknowledge You in all my ways. As I fast, direct my path and shape my decisions. Make my life a reflection of trust, not control. Amen.
